Interesting! Though I think there's a mistake in the labels of Fig 1 as 'Native (male) - immigrant (male)' should be 'Native (female) - immigrant (male)'.

Thanks for the suggestion! This didn't work, but the plot did render fine in another computer, so I guess it's something to do my my local config :/ I'll keep investigating..
