Artists really do not need to suffer for their art -- before, during, or after making it.

"Lean on me" is the antidote to reactionary "Don't tread on me" attitude.

I like to add odd questions to episode teasers taken from that ep's dialog, like "Would you believe I'm a cyborg?" In this case, the answer for me is yes. I had cataract surgery which replaced my faulty organic lenses with artificial ones. But if you wear glasses, you're a cyborg too!

You're saying the CIA wanted Afghan soldiers to kill people in the US? Do you have evidence that it was intended?
November 28, 2025 at 6:47 PM
An Afghan guy worked under the CIA in one of our imperialist wars and Miller thinks the problem was his failure to assimilate? Might makes right, it's the American Way. That's what the guy assimilated to.

Crypto is a shell game. If too many people got it, the game would be over.
Six-seven sounds like a reference for the sake of a reference. An inside-joke with no joke, just insider-ness. Oh well. Maybe it will lead them away from "skibidi toilet" for awhile.

When the boomers start using it on Facebook, then it's way over.
Yeah, these cousins of mine joking about it were pre-teens.

It's even more ridiculous than that. Mainstream sources are saying the shooter worked under the CIA. He wasn't bringing dangerous foreign culture to the US. He was bringing US imperialist culture to the US.

To clarify, I saw Donovan and A2 Folk festival by myself. Kiss and The Misfits I definitely wanted to see. The other 3 I was just being sociable but enjoyed them. I've gone to smaller shows but no other huge concerts.

I was tempted bc I saw it somewhat cheap. If the colors are evenly spaced, I could ignore the granny square thing and just treat it like any other multicolor yarn. But it wasn't quite cheap enough.

Tori Amos - accompanied Melinda. Not entirely my cup of tea but great show.
Kiss - went with my step-dad. Great show.
Ann Arbor Folk Fest - I mainly wanted to see Keb Mo but then Chet Atkins, Michael Hedges, Janis Ian, Dar Williams, holy crap.

Buffy Ste Marie - young lady I had a crush on had bought too many tickets, needed to get rid of one. Good show though.
Donovan - solo at The Ark. Awesome.
The Misfits - went with two (2!) zinester gals! Completely platonic in spite of my best efforts. I wasn't dragged along, wanted to see them.

This doesn't seem like a representative sample because I'm too chicken to go by myself, so I see what my friends or relatives wanted to see.

CCCP - club in Waco with my cousin, circa 1988? We were just going to see whoever was playing that night

Looks nice. I saw some weird multi-color yarn that's supposed to change colors with each round you make in a granny square. Seems like it would be messed up if you were just slightly off, if your stitches are slightly tighter or looser than they expect.

My consumption of tv series is 99% dvds, 1% clips on the web so I don't see the kinds of commercials on broadcast tv except when I'm hanging with extended family. Weird to see commercials for AI, the Coke ad made of AI, heartwarming family betting together, and "please gamble responsibly" psa.
