But whether it was the NWSL or the club itself that hired this plane, they should know that they can stipulate in the contract that they will not accept flights with these specific carriers that are involved in daily transport of chained humans.

The elimination of USAID was an unforgivable moral atrocity that should haunt Trump, Elon Musk and Marco Rubio for the rest of their days and beyond
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

This isn’t just an improper blending of church and state.

It’s a twisted mockery of Christianity that ought to offend any actually devout Christian.

Showing armed soldiers moving into battle as you lip service “… as we forgive those who trespass against us” sorta misses the point.
Add a dose of propaganda to your morning coffee.. This smells of Russian-like “special operation”

A quick TL;DR for those who haven’t been following along over the past few hours.

Yesterday, a Trump-appointed judge blocked the president’s call-up of Oregon’s National Guard.

Trump tried to circumvent that ruling by sending already-federalized California national guard troops to Portland.

Update: Ald. Fuentes held a presser this afternoon with other local electeds in response to this incident. She said the person the agents were arresting is a ~37 y/o man who broke his leg while being chased by ICE.

Fuentes told press ICE agents blocked attorneys from speaking to the man.
Chicago Ald. Jessie Fuentes' office has released video of federal agents handcuffing her at Humboldt Park Health, as she asked them to present a judicial warrant for another arrest.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

Wtf is wrong with us. We care nothing for children in this country...a truism, maybe, but rarely illustrated as violently as here.
Masked goons are tearing families apart, pulling parents away from their children. The family is attempting to navigate the legal system, but this situation is truly horrifying. I'm genuinely afraid for the future of this country.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site
As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

I like Jimmy Kimmel. I really do. I have no issues with him.

I'm talking about something very different.

Kimmel was only suspended. But he's back now. Karen Attiah and all the other Black journalists are still fired.

Y'all do know how to fight, when you want to.

But you don't really want to. 🤷🏿‍♂️

This is one good illustration why diversity on the court matters: Sotomayor can imagine a version of the world where this ruling would affect a younger version of herself, her family and people that look like her. Kavanaugh cannot.
Justice Sotomayor, joined by Kagan and Jackson, in dissent: "We should not have to live in a country where the Government
can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent."

The premise of this system is that people should decide to go to college, then go to law school, then operate their own law firms — all at enormous personal expense — and then... somehow do serious criminal defense at $65/hr.
