okay I can see this is coming from the replies so: to be clear I'm not saying Farage having been racist at school doesn't matter, what I'm saying is that I find it weird that the media is going soooo big on this when they'd mostly remained quiet on the many, many dogwhistles of current day Farage

I do think the racism probe is important, but equally I do wish journalists would become equally concerned about potential links between Putin and Reform and given the conviction of his sidekick as well as massive donations from mysterious billionaires nobody has heard of who live overseas.
Nigel Farage has gone to war with the BBC after a radio presenter suggested he had “a relationship when he was younger with Hitler,” vowing he would not speak to the national broadcaster until it apologized for its own past “racist” content.

5️⃣ EU diplomats explicitly say UK is disqualifying itself from closer alignment

“If UK chooses U.S.-style pharmaceutical rules, it is clearly not aligning with the European model.”

“This will make regulatory cooperation much harder.”

“You cannot build a single market relationship on US standards.”

UK budget Effects:

Economy to grow by 1.5% this year, down from 1.9%.
Productivity to rise by 1%, down from 1.3%.
Disposable income could rise by 0.5% a year.

Can't get economic growth when 24m people can't attain minimum living standard.

1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined.
The government’s budget is simply managing decline
The budget does little to improve living standards or facilitate sustained economic growth

We all know trickle down economics doesn’t work. Is there an example of “trickle up” in the real world that works? I want a killer analogy for my next argument. I’m always arguing.

Am I understanding this right- if you are working to improve the Country’s finances its ’insider trading’, but if you play the market for personal profit it’s ok? 🤔🤦‍♀️

It's a pity we can't harness the energy created by so much confected outrage. I'm no fan of Reeves but our overwhelmingly right wing press is descending even deeper than normal into the political mud without actually shedding light on the budget detail.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

I know who Nus Ghani MP is - not because we always agree - but because she’s been serving her constituency (as well as lewks) since 2015.

Who the hell is Lucy White?!

Ah, a quick google search reveals her as a rentagob for GB ‘news.’

I know which one is qualified to chair the budget debate.

Better to develop alternatives to US tech companies and be free of coercion.

Not convinced Starmer asking Farage to launch an inquiry into his own party is going to work. Of course, Farage will look guilty if he doesn't, but it's too easy for him to say "Yep, done it. Nothing to see."
Starmer should be asking MI6 to investigate, then make the results public.

Bear with me. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor suddenly gets a fit of patriotism and in an attempt to save the BBC decides his best course of action is to go to congress and spill the Epstein beans. Brings down Trump, saves the BBC & suddenly everyone loves the royals. Contact me here for film rights.
