A lot of transphobic whataboutism is just straight up trying to make being a bigot sound like a legit position asked in good faith.

Nope, same old horseshit.

I love it when little garbage cats develop the luxury of food snobbery. Yes he was tiny wet ball of fleas found in a ditch but now he's a velvet prince who wants the premium, organic, grain-free chicken in gravy, NOT the premium, organic, grain-free chicken au jus how dare you offer that garbage.

A full accounting should’ve happened after Trump‘s first term. And yet nobody even tried. He got away with everything and just laid plans for a second term that would be even worse.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Unrelated to the thread, but HST's obituary of Nixon always reminds me of my late father-in-law, who also really hated Nixon, long after Nixon himself had died.

Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

I’m appreciating some of the more measured takes on the Senate capitulation but I think that some are missing the “last straw” nature of the reaction.

The Senate Democratic caucus has a long history of disastrous capitulation.

Look at Schumer’s Yes vote on the Iraq War and now he’s the leader.

In its limited, cabined, semi-nuked-and-therefore-always-potentially-further-nukable contemporary state, the filibuster has become the Senate's dark matter, at once powering and obscuring behavior on both sides.
