Speaking of which I’m down here now. Always causes mixed emotions. I’m genuinely lucky to have been able to have lived here and to have such good friends. I’m still a bit resentful because it feels like I didn’t leave by choice. Hoping the latter fades with time but it still feels fresh.

This is my favorite I took with the 4x5 while I lived here. Unfortunately the layoff happened like a month after I got the setup finished and I decided to abandon shooting $7 sheets of film while I didn’t have an income. Instagram doesn’t do it justice but I may rescan it and print at some point

One thing I would like to do next time I’m down in Goleta is recreate this, which is a phone shot. Should be easy to execute on film in the winter. I want a few more good shots from the area since it’s personally meaningful to me.
