I’m generally smart enough to avoid politics at Thanksgiving but I did make one faux pas last night. My cousin’s boyfriend (not present) works at spacex and when my cousin said he works on launchpads in Texas I asked “is that the one they melted?”

Found out that there’s a community darkroom in Oakland and that they have “learn to develop and print in a darkroom” classes. I do want to learn more about darkroom printing, could be pretty fun.

First photo here is also a composition I’ve been eyeing with the 4x5. Tried it once as a morning shot but the light was wrong. Think it could go well in black and white with a yellow filter.
Speaking of which I’m down here now. Always causes mixed emotions. I’m genuinely lucky to have been able to have lived here and to have such good friends. I’m still a bit resentful because it feels like I didn’t leave by choice. Hoping the latter fades with time but it still feels fresh.
