Omggggg this vibe for Sukuna is something I've longed for so long, I remember tweeting about it but it always remained just an idea 🥹 If you make it happen I'll be fucking first in line because it's SO GOOD

In the end, it turned out that Megumi could learn to love both.

“Something I will gladly give you for the rest of your life, if you let me.” Megumi rested his hand in Sukuna’s. Sukuna kissed his knuckles after helping him to his feet, smiling against them. “And while you might not learn to love me, I think you can at least learn to love that.”

As it got even colder, Sukuna got to his feet and offered Megumi his hand. Megumi looked at the ring on his finger.

“Come,” Sukuna said. “There is something I would like to show you.”

“What?”
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
"You must admit that it could have been worse." Sukuna grinned and gestured to himself, first his face, and down his body. Megumi’s lips, much to his surprise, curled into a small smile.

“I suppose it could.”

It really could.

They stayed out there for a while longer. The air felt lighter now.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Sukuna, however, laughed. His eyes crinkled when he did, and Megumi’s stomach jolted.

Oh.

“You don’t have to love me. But the truth is that we are married, whether we like it or not, and it will make it easier for both of us if you accept it. The sooner, the better.”

“I know.”
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
“Here's the thing. There are two alternatives. One is to keep struggling and end up being poisoned by bitterness.”

“And the other is to learn to love each other, right?” Megumi muttered. If someone from his family had heard him, they would have slapped his face.

Sukuna turned his gaze towards the building where the celebration was being held. Distant, muffled music and laughter were heard if one listened closely. For a moment, Sukuna was somewhere far away, until he regained focus and turned fully to Megumi.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
“Agree?”

“To get married,” Sukuna clarified.

“There was no one else.”

Sukuna opened his mouth, hesitated, and closed it again. Eventually, he shook his head.

"They did not tell me that you were this young," Sukuna said. "How old are you?"

“Eighteen," he lied. "And you?”

“Thirty-seven.”

Engulfed in his warmth, Megumi kept it on, held it closed over his chest, but only because it smelled nice.
They had not been alone until now. Sukuna studied his face, and the slight crease between his eyebrows deepened.

“I understand that you are not happy about this. Why did you agree?”
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
“Here you are,” Sukuna said. Megumi moved as if to get up, but Sukuna raised his hand. “Let us sit here for a while. Some fresh air will do us good. I know I need it, after all of that noise in there.”

Sukuna took his suit jacket off and draped it over Megumi's shoulders as he sat next to him.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
He said something Megumi could not hear and sent him off. Sukuna watched him go inside before making his way over to Megumi.

How chivalrous of him, Megumi bitterly thought. Making sure they're alone.

The wooden floor of the gazebo creaked under Sukuna’s weight when he stepped up.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Ruffling in the grass alerted him that someone was coming. Someone from the Zenin family was making his way, his face red, prepared to scold Megumi for acting like a fool on this oh so important day.

Before he had gotten halfway across the garden, Sukuna caught up and grabbed his arm.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
He found a bench in a gazebo where he sat, staring unseeingly into nothing.

He had been surrounded by people the whole day, yet he had never felt lonelier. A scream constantly tickled in the back of his throat. Would they even notice if he let it out?
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
They must have realised it would only make them all look like fools if they did.

The second no one was keeping their eyes on him, he snuck outside. He would hear about it later, but if he did not get air, he would suffocate. Walked out, away, across the garden, the cold grass tickling his ankles.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Megumi hated him. He hated him. Hated every single person in this room. He stared at the glass, imagined smashing it and slicing Sukuna’s throat with the shards, the blood spraying warm and wet over Megumi’s face.

Megumi refused to dance, and they did not try to force him.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Megumi moved his eyes from the plate. Sukuna looked into Megumi's eyes with knitted brows.

Megumi looked away again, mumbling something barely audible that he was not feeling hungry. As if Sukuna was concerned about his well-being. If he had been, he would have prevented this from happening.
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
He stared at the plate, nausea rumbling in his stomach, making its way up his throat. It was real. It was his life. The guests cheered, talked and laughed. Celebrated.

His life.

"Are you not going to eat?"
November 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
"Must be speechless because of how handsome the groom is," Sukuna said, and offered their audience a grin.
Laughter again. The moment passed.

And so, he was married, and it was time for celebration. Megumi did not touch his food, nor the drinks.
