In The National Archives to follow up a few references for a chapter — it’s been about 5 years since I last looked at CO records in person… nice wee sojourn and, as ever, pirates popping out the page even when it’s not what I’m looking for …

A very thoughtful (and positive!) review of Suppressing Piracy by Guy Chet in the latest IJMH.

Currently trying to finish an article connecting the past & present of fisheries management in Lake Malawi, & the lessons to be learned.
Possibly one of the hardest pieces of writing I’ve engaged in so rather than turning to the conclusion, I’ve instead made a timeline… It may or may not be clear…
