Christmas decorating day yesterday. Splurged for some of those fancy vintage-style LED lights for the patio this year!

Back then he said a variation of the same thing both he and Kathy Kennedy have been saying since 2019: there’s still interest in doing it, but he made the deal with Netflix for Knives Out sequels, and everything else had to take the back burner.

Not totally sure what to make of this. It’s such a weird, off-handed way to break news that contradicts what both Johnson and Kathy Kennedy have said over the past several years. Still, this (might?) officially be time of death for Rian Johnson’s STAR WARS trilogy.
Johnson had signed on to mount a fresh Star Wars trilogy in 2017, and while that plan is effectively dead, he isn't saying goodbye yet. "A part of my brain will always be in Star Wars", he says. "It's so much a part of me and the way I think"

Last night of Haunt for the season. Caught one last Blind Tiger Jazz Band set and a curtain call for the Gore-ing ‘20s monsters.

After the submission, the project stalled at the executive level. Sources say Bergman took an unusually long time to read the script, and when he and Iger finally responded, their primary concern was narrative continuity-specifically, uncertainty about how Ben Solo could be alive following the events of "The Rise of Skywalker." Internally, that reaction surprised Lucasfilm leadership, who reportedly felt the story's logic was clear and creatively sound. Several people close to the production interpret the decision as politically motivated, coinciding with Iger's efforts to position Bergman as his successor at Disney.

Talented, interesting creatives were actively working on a Ben Solo movie. I’d be glad to see a Finn movie, but there has thus far been no indication that Boyega wants to do another Star Wars. Why does everything in fandom have to be a fucking turf war?
