I’ll never understand why people with more money than they can ever spend object to a tiny bit they’ll never notice being siphoned off to those who really need it.
Why?

The other thing learned from offsprings’ 40 year old holiday diaries is both of them referred to Gatwick as ‘Ratwick’. Which given they were 7 and 9 at the time seems to me very perceptive.

On the EV front 3p per mile is still half the 6p per mile of fuel duty, and if you charge at home on a tariff you're still driving incredibly cheaply. It's the people who can only charge at commercial outfits who are getting stung.
One kw for me at home - 7p. On the road could be ten times that.

Schiphol is rarely fun

The real rubbish is the difference between the cost of charging at home and on the road. At home here 7p a kw. On the road ten times that.

I use Octoverse which seems pretty good but it’s a lottery. At Gatwick I can park and for a very reasonable price they’ll charge it. Heathrow has no charge points at all. That said I’m never going back to smelly petrol.
