SPD cruiser parked in a bus stop while officers attended a public meeting about safety in Capitol Hill parks. Was parked there with lights on for the entirety of the 90 minute meeting, and additional discussion after the meeting.

Does Seattle Parks know that Garfield Community Center is not in Capitol Hill, and is not very convenient to get to from Capitol Hill without a car? Especially if you live near one of the parks being discussed.

Sure feels like excluding people without cars is by design with this meeting.

The lodging tax is mixed in with other sales taxes. The 7% replaces a portion of the regular sales tax, and comes to a total of 15.7%. The STIA fee is on top of that.

Can we really still call it a freeway lid if in order to cross it, you end up crossing more lanes of car traffic that exist on the actual freeway?

Well, I guess now we’re at the BARE minimum

Also see: most of North Capitol Hill where power lines run in the alley and sometimes the trees are allowed to interrupt the paved area of the street.

Well, this one small, cheap sign with a handwritten phone number really screams that Kaiser is willing to do the bare minimum and nothing more.

Is this why the convention center (which was supposed to draw out of town visitors from far and wide) is advertising at its own doorstep now? Who are they trying to attract with this ad?

My e-bike was stolen from my apartment building’s bike room this weekend after a break in. They got the bike, but not the battery or computer. I have e-bike insurance, but if anyone sees this matte gray Riese and Muller Roadster around Capitol Hill (Seattle), I’d love to hear details.

I was wrong. The convention center expansion drove away the Cheesecake Factory we did have.

The design of this sign also captures how messy the next couple of months are going to be. I don’t envy the graphic designers trying to organize all of that.

Could have just made a sign that says “Train will be garbage for two months. Good luck!”
