You are so right. I find it interesting that year after year, Columbia issued Andy Williams' singles every 3 months, and every now and then, one would catch on with Top 40 station programmers. His albums were consistent sellers, and he had more singles hits than most MOR artists.

2/2: Fortunately, clouds and cooler temps (among other factors) lowered our risk on Saturday. But we were ready! Thanks to those who seek to protect us, especially NOAA, which is now facing massive personnel and budget cuts. What would we do without them? (We could soon find out).

5/5: If you so choose, you can be one of "those" people. But I'm thankful to have made it through that terrible time, and I'm grateful for each ordinary, normal day.

4/5: And soon we were complaining that burgers were 50 cents higher, and some people were attacking vaccines. (Even after the president instituted Operation Warp Speed to accelerate vaccines that saved many lives).

3/5: There were no live music performances. We couldn't see our family members in hospitals and nursing homes. Many of us couldn't go to work. It was AWFUL. Then gradually we got our lives back.

2/5: We were told it only affected 10-15 people. The next few years were MISERABLE. We lost many loved ones. Yes, gas was cheap, but everything was closed so there was nowhere to go (supply and demand). There were no fans at ball games, just cardboard cutout pictures of people.

3/3: Carl was familiar with the area from having spent part of his youth on Missionary Ridge, and Dolly learned that couples could get their marriage license and get married the same day in Ringgold. Plus she said, "It sounded good. Ring-gold was a good place to get hitched."

2/3: Actually they exchanged vows at Ringgold Baptist Church on May 30, 1966. A historical market tablet written by Randall Franks sits near there today.
