We cannot put our space program or national defense in the hands of one company. Especially a company led by someone like Elon Musk.
Exclusive: Officials at NASA and the Pentagon are urging SpaceX competitors to quickly develop alternative rockets and spacecraft after President Trump threatened to cancel Space X’s contracts and Elon Musk’s defiant response.
NASA, Pentagon push for SpaceX alternatives amid Trump’s feud with Musk
The worried reaction within space and national security agencies highlights the risks of government’s exclusive dependence on SpaceX for crucial tasks, including classified missions.

I absolutely agree. It’s not likely that astronauts could survive the trip to Mars, and very unlikely that they could survive for months on the Red Planet before making the 7 to 9 month trip back. It would be a suicide mission.
The U.S. administration’s proposed NASA budget cut threatens key programs like Artemis. Skip straight to Mars? Let’s be clear: whether due to radiation, unknowns in human physiology, mental strain, or accidents—astronauts will die. That’s why we must learn from the Moon first.

I find great comfort in this perspective. My life on earth may be brief, compared to the Cosmos. But I am made of atoms forged in the fiery hearts of stars. When my time here is over, these atoms will remain, and I will remain part of the Cosmos.
"We are star stuff, which has taken its destiny into its own hands. Our own planet is only a tiny part of the vast cosmic tapestry, a starry fabric of worlds yet untold. Those worlds in space are as countless as all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the earth."

She's not alone. For me, a night without starlight is worse than a day without sunlight! Ad astra!
I have been diagnosed with astrophilia.

A rare love & obsession with planets, stars & outer space. 🥰

As we advance in scientific knowledge and technology, this threat grows even more. More than anything, we need to educate society, both children and adults, in basic science. #STEM
"We've arranged a society based on science and technology, in which nobody understands anything about science and technology. And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces."
