I’ve explained to conservatives that it’s not “socialism” that they’re against, it’s *authoritarian* socialism. It’s the authoritarianism that didn’t work in the socialism that the claim not to like. Democratic socialism, by contrast, works because it’s lead democratically, will of the people style.

I read Ron Cherno’s biography of Grant, and his depiction of Grant’s Overland Campaign could easily become one of the best war movies.

Back when the House was a based on a proportional ratio, we’d have over 10,000, reps today. Which makes sense for our population. But when they capped it in 1929, they made the House a Little Senate, and should’ve scrapped the actual Senate then.
