1. Turns out 1/640th of a second isn't quick enough, even if the great tit was all in frame.
2. 'Just' missed focus on a robin (Eurasian robin).

Another reply suggests they may not all be oystercatchers, and some might be godwits. One thing I do know is there were a lot of them. Here's another photo taken around the same time, which I didn't post earlier.
