Software engineer near Seattle. INFJ. Francophile. Love my wife, stepkiddos, dogs, pineapple on pizza, retro gaming, learning new things. If you're MAGA the door's over there. 👉
Getting our oven replaced. The dust and dog hair wasn't a surprise but four cat toys? What the hell has Daphne been doing?

You deserve someone who looks at you the way Murphy looks at me when I'm on the couch.

Android users: I'm seeking volunteers to help get my app on Play Store. Not much effort needed, just opt-in to "testing" and keep the app installed for 14 days (Google requirement). Please DM me if you'd like to help!

"Puparazzi" is super-simple: take pics of pups, "unlock" breeds, and earn medals.

Decided to try the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It's a real treat for medieval period-loving nerds like me. It's not about dragons, it's about hyper-realism i.e. you need to manage your food, sleep, equipment, etc. And now I found a tavern where you can play dice in the glow of a torch. ❤️

Selling Sunset is a ridiculous show with lots of terrible people, but I just saw an episode where they held a full-scale funeral for a pup that passed away and I was legit choked up.

I'll say it again, dogs are the greatest equalizers.

The thumbnail is misleading, here's the mock-up of the "T1". Totally complements the sneakers.

Murphy after the Eagles interception: "Game's over, Dad, I'm goin' back to sleep."

Jumping the gun on #caturday just a bit. Daphne's pretty cute sometimes, insisting on sitting on my work laptop presumably for the warmth.

We've already been in The Twilight Zone for years, but now we're in... I don't even know, what IS this place?

To say there's a serious disconnect between Big Tech and the general population would be an understatement. Behold, this tweet yesterday from the head of Microsoft AI:

Wednesday = hike day for Penny and her BFF Rainier. So cute I can't even stand it.

Don't tell me you also had one of these:

Also I was just reminded of this stuff, chipped beef slathered in some sort of white sauce on bread. I *think* this was primarily a Pennsylvania thing but I might be wrong. We called it "SOS" which I didn't realize til much later meant "sh*t on a shingle".

I've mentioned some odd PA Dutch stuff I ate as a kid (my "pot pie" is almost certainly not your version), but this one still makes me queasy: pigs in a blanket. For most of the world it's a hot dog wrapped in a crescent roll; for me it was cabbage stuffed with rice + ground meat + tomato sauce. 🤮

Thanks Mark, I was wondering but this is what my Bluesky search yielded:

Trending on Bluesky too, that makes me happy.

This was an easy vote, Expedition 33 is just special. The storytelling and visuals are immaculate and the experience is a non-stop stream of adrenaline, surprises, laughs, and even a few tears. Calling it a "game" almost seems like a disservice.

You've gotta love Vince Gilligan.

There are people who know exactly what Trump and Epstein engaged in. They saw the transcripts and videos. They know the hell that ~1000 women endured. No decent person would bury the truth forever.

Disclose every bit of it whether it's DOJ-authorized or not. No jury would convict the whistleblower.

Wife and I are binging Nobody Wants This. An agnostic woman and a rabbi fall for each other but their path is stalled if she won't convert.

We're not religious but I find this series oddly relatable. My wife hates politics while I feel there's nothing more important. The struggle is real.

Ummm holy smokes, Pluribus is living up to the hype. So far the first two episodes are incredibly good and my goodness, Rhea Seehorn is putting on a masterclass. First ep is on Prime if you don't have Apple TV+.

I think you're probably onto something, maybe it's the INFJ but I just *cannot* bring myself to generate BS to check a box. This was the best I could do, henceforth known as Darren's Last Stand™️:

We have self-authored performance reviews at work every six months. I've been literally staring at this last question for two hours. I will not be forced to generate LinkedIn-style bullshit and I won't use AI, so now what?

I'm not 12 and I'm so over this nonsense.

Timeline cleanse, more trail shenanigans with Penny the German Shepherd and Rainier the Labradoodle.
