Since 2021, authorities in dozens of localities across China have publicized cleanup campaigns against “boys’ love” books & other “materials harmful to minors’ physical & mental health.” “LGBT-themed” materials sometimes lumped in. Must place dragnet against “boys’ love” authors in this context:

Videos have surfaced of groups of young men beating gay men in Zhengzhou Ppl’s Park w/ punches, kicks, & rods, yelling at their victims “Are you gay?” “Do you like men?” "If you dont say, I'll beat you to death." Police have detained 17 ppl. Most media dont say "gay" in reporting (except Caixin)1/2
