Insane that the SWP are still a thing after the disgrace of their protecting comrade delta. Lost half their membership, lost all credibility, destroyed any chance of their becoming anything more than a sleazy little cult, but still, no shame and have the gall for stunts like this.
Joyously the clause saying you couldn’t be in any other parties has been very clearly stated for *weeks*. It’s just clear that for some reason the SWP lot had been convinced that wouldn’t be applied to them.

Watching Richard e Grant meander around his house. He spends most of ghr time talking about his late wife. It’s unbearably charming.

What is actually going on?
Say what you like about Change UK, at least they managed a dinner

I have it for breakfast.
UPDATE: in the btl comments quite a few people are livid with my suggestion that nobody really wants to eat Christmas pudding at the end of the Christmas Day meal.
No review from me today cos it’s the @ft_weekend.com CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, edited by @harrietfl.ft.com. It’s a banger and ever better in print. A top team including @nigella.bsky.social @timhayward.bsky.social @jancisrobinson.com and, er, me nominate the Christmas food must haves.

Niche. But what about the followers of Comrade delta?
Sultana says she would reverse the expulsions of SWP and other communists kicked out for "dual membership" in recent weeks

I think a sign of getting older is learning to let go. Wife mad? Concede. Works wants a change? Let it go. That slice of pizza won’t tear off? Turn the plate.

Exceptions apply. You play your shit music on my bus without headphones, I’m calling you a prick and eating your cat with a fork.

Why is Badenoch trying to talk about Christianity when she’s one of those online atheist bores?
November 28, 2025 at 4:04 PM
No. No it was still racist back then. It was very much racist in 2005.
Nigel Farage asked about Reform MS Laura Anne Jones (who the Senedd Commissioner found had used a racist term in a staff WhatsApp chat in August 2023 while discussing TikTok writing: “No chinky spies for me.”)
"Well, she used a word that colloquially, probably was meant in a nice way 20 years ago."

Wait, this could work for me.
Handing back student work that’s been written by ChatGPT with a 0 followed by the comment “This essay will never stand in authentic wonder before the Beauty of God’s creation.”
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

I like beinf a very typical boorish looking man as this never occurred to me growing up. Dad looked down on people who couldn’t sew like.
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

‘Everybody I know listens to The Whirly band.’
‘No, you know everyone who listens to the ‘Whirly band.’
a 🤝 between all types of very online people, both left and right alike, is that “you have no idea what’s coming” usually portends that the thing they’re talking about is not, in fact, coming
by all indications “literally all of society mildly likes this abominable scam homunculus” is much closer to the truth. I don’t see how you can win if you are actively in denial about the reality you’re resisting

Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Local Facebook groups, in a very posh area of London, complaining about food inflation. Noting that mice has doubled in price in the last year. Labour just ignoring this is going to lose the next election.

We’ve had, quite literally, thousands of miscarriages of justice over the last two years due to both the incompetence of magistrates and the insanely tight sentencing guidelines that are as draconian as possible for those that attempt to be law abiding, and lenient as can be for serial offenders.
oh Americans may not understand this, but a 'magistrate' in the UK is a local volunteer with typically no legal background. But it's ok, they receive about 10 days of training. And now they can send you to jail for two years without a jury!

Glasman every day
November 25, 2025 at 12:09 AM
Place that was selling wine for £3 a glass is now at £8.50. Used to be our favourite lunch spot until 2022. Now I just wouldn’t think to go in there. Government hasn’t got a clue about how useless they’re being on day to day issues.
One of my mum friends works for Tesco HQ. She says homeware is counter cyclical: people can't afford a new sofa so buy cushions. I noticed lately that the posh ready meal section expanded suddenly. Made me wonder if people are switching from takeaways. And if perhaps things are going to get rough.

Jesus. I don’t like them, they mess up the lines of my suits. But they’re the easiest way to enable safeguarding. No lanyard? Why are you on the premises? Who are you visiting? Can’t explain, out you go.

It’s such a stupid compliant only used by complete morons who can’t think past their own nose.
