Yet again the Aldi "Foodie Market" range raises more questions than it answers. Is this what constitutes a "foodie", nut consumption? Why are Almonds but not Cashews a "natural" source of protein?

The proof that no-one asked for that I finished a 50k, the one that rather appealingly traced the ancient Danelaw border and finished within a gnat’s crochet of my house.

I feel like a bell end for leaving the guy hanging on a high five, brain was not working at that point

Thanks Gabe for the vid!

I just spotted the book “Dark Water” submerged in some dark water in Leyton’s Dagenham Brook.

Has anyone else seen a book abandoned somewhere strangely appropriate for its title?

@groomb.bsky.social are you familiar with this beautiful little book? Purchased from the much missed moorland books

There was a (male) cat called Mrs Chippy who accompanied Shackleton on his ship Endurance for the aborted trans-Antarctic expedition.

Unfortunately Shackleton had him shot when the boat sank after it was crushed by the ice.

There’s a little shrine to him in a New Zealand cemetery.

Increasingly arcane tasks at toddler football today. There may or may not be teams. Something about a crocodile and a sweet shop. No one knows what to do. Children and adults confused. Enzo sticks a marker on his head and walks off.

at the weekend Google AI told me there might be bees in my computer

(seems to have gotten this from a years-old blog someone wrote on 1st April)

An excellent night run with @gabrielstones.bsky.social this week, from Leyton to Woolwich via ancient waterways. Quickly used up my monthly “ballardian” quota. We got chased by vagrants in a post-industrial wasteland, too. No world records were set. #deeprunning

absolutely delightful night running along the Thames Path with @gabrielstones.bsky.social last night. Again my nutrition strategy was "home made edibles" and again I am unsure of the wisdom of this.

Surely this makes it “inauthentic”?

I think I’ve reached a new tier of running memoirs with this one
