This "bad art is necessary to help us appreciate the good" discourse makes me think that people should play Harvester.

So, Runaway.
Not the Spanish adventure, but a German 1993 shareware Dos game where you play as a monkey running from the zoo.
It's like a fever dream. The interface barely works, the humor is semi-incomprehensible and the game features screens filled with poop, wise parrots and animal experiments.

My Discord masters decided that I should play Noctropolis as I continue #dosember tonight. What luck.
Of course, more DOS shenanigans as a warmup. 9.30 (in 30 mins): www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...

Second hand Swedish shops got the goods

Blood Refreshed Supply is a bit of a headscratcher.
Compared to the much cheaper Fresh Supply, it only includes some QoL updates and bug fixes (even though the game is buggy right now but nvm). For 28 EUR / 30 dollars? Hmm.
Weird that it wasn't released as a free update (like with Quake)

You know French games from the 90s are weird, right?
Bargon Attack is weird even for their standards. Semi-incomprehensible plot (I guess you need to know the comics?), weird mishmash of graphics (digitized, realistic, deformed), changes in gameplay. It feels like an alien's idea of an adventure.

The last update seems to be from last year so the game might still come out under the new name Dino-Dogs Football VR? Starring NFL player Marshawn Lynch?
Not sure how or why, but there you go.
December 4, 2025 at 9:09 AM
Dino Dogs VR was a game in development at Judobaby around 2017. A mad scientist by the name of Dr. Dogonovitch, has shaken up the world of Dog Football which he intends to dominate with his technology & creations. The game seemed to be "straightforward" dogs football, except you know with dinos.

Yooo we're starting #DOSember tonight and it's going to be a French nuit, all about COKTEL VISION.
I am going to play some of the more obscure titles from the French software house, so come join at 9.30 and see that Frenchie touch www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...

I mean this classic episode would probably explain the Toadstool doll, but why use ONE episode as the cover for the entire show?
December 3, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Apparently, in the Danish version of the Super Mario Bros Super Show (it was a thing in Denmark??), Princess Toadstool got turned into a ... uhm doll? very small child? And Mario is evil.

I mean if there's one thing my Twitch channel did right, is bringing the gift of Jerry to more people. But it was a great year, here's to more (and to DOSEMBER starting tomorrow) www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...

Baby, how about me, you and some Decision in the Desert?

Sometimes I wonder how many recursive loop layers we can reach when I see people selling pirated copies of pirated Italian games from the 80s.
Perhaps the right term is "reproductions"? But then again, the originals were "reproducing" the games too so... uh... I have a headache.

Coktel Vision (and designer Muriel Tramis) definitely had a unique vision, as here with Geisha (1990). In a Tokyo torn between tradition and cyberpunk, you have to save Eva from the "Lustful Dragon" by completing erotic(ish) minigames and classic puzzles in point-and-click adventure mode.

Stranger Things doesn't lie, that's exactly the NES version of Ghosts'n'Goblins as everyone remembers it!

Since I'm sick and on a break from Twitch and everything, anyone interested in more gaming history, Twitch shenanigans and Italian memes could do much worse than join my new Discord server. Hold up, not much worse. https://discord.gg/t9kSHPxn3

You know Steins;Gate is old when they are talking about CRTs monitors as something of a worthless niche that nobody is interested in.

Being sick was the perfect opportunity to catch up with Mouthwashing. A game better written, paced and structured than many horror movies I've seen in the last ten years.
Despite my patience running thin with derelict space stations, couldn't put it down until the end. Little gem.
November 18, 2025 at 3:43 PM
Sick today but I'm not going to let that stop me from my last stream before a bit of holidays (kinda).
When you're sick what better comfort than random kids multimedia from the late 90s? I mean plenty other things but there ya go. 6.30 join and bring the paracetamol www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...
