The DC shooter appears to be a man from Afghanistan who the Trump administration granted asylum. The response should NOT be that this granting of asylum was a mistake Trump should be blamed for. That 2020 decision was the right one, tho in this one case it turned out badly. The problem is the guns.

Someone who never worked inside the bureaucracy honestly has no clue what to make of it or why it is the way it is. Graeber never changed anything being weird on the outside, by all accounts.

The rapid demise of the "Occupy" movement and its rather sad short existence attest to that.

The NG in DC never tried to DO anything. They were ordered to stand around somewhere for x hours, period.

With no mobility or tactics except static observation over a mind-numbing stretch of time, of course they were easy targets.

I've passed within a few feet or inches of some totally unaware.

I loved the show but never thought Guiteau deserved anything other than institutional psychiatric care. His ability to steal then live unquestioned for so long was......weird. Guess it was possible back then.
