To review what we from @washingtonpost.com are reporting out of the IRS today:

- Projected tax revenue this year is down 10% ($500 billion) as Trump's downsizing is emboldening tax cheats

- IRS is nearing an agreement with ICE to assist on mass deportations

Three things that are all true:

1) What Trump and Musk are doing is an unprecedented, authoritarian power grab

2) Their methods are slapdash and hamfisted because they lack the muscle to act legislatively

3) If the courts choose not to enforce the law, 2) won't matter — and 1) will succeed

A virus came along & killed 10s of millions of Americans & the social consensus is that we made too big a deal out of it.

Adjust your climate hopes accordingly.
I used to think that when global warming truly began to bite, deniers would face reality & we could act. Now I think it's more likely it will lead to a kind of fascism that will respond to global warming by, like, executing everyone who says global warming is real.

Make it go viral but make sure she benefits.

But the very hottest days have warmed 4x faster than the global average, especially in south-east England.

Global warming is not "just" 1°C or 2°C. The effects of climate change are non-linear, especially for extremes.
