As a godot fan i agree with mostly everything you said. The UI did get a really stellar revamp recently.
That said I rather use it than being forced to pay royalties to Sweeney or Unity.

I do agree that Steam revenue split is terrible and should be reviewed, that the review system is borked, that AI slop shouldnt even be allowed.
