I was looking at Leafs' stats, and I thought, I'll compare with a really good team. I plotted D-Zone Starts% vs Corsi-For%, expecting a similar negative slope: higher DZS% = lower CF%. But No. Flat slope. Most Avs with high DZS% also have CF% >50% as well as the guys with low DZS%. Extraordinary!

Interesting that the Isolated Impact map shows defensive zone shot suppression of -4%, because the Replacements chart shows [TOR] xGA/60 (Y axis) goes up from ~2.5 without him to ~3.5 with him, while he has little effect on team xGF/60 (X axis).

Each [individual] is Blais without player. Is [Team] in blue effectively the average of the team with Blais?

Since 4 of 5 WHA teams were absorbed into the NHL as equals, why don't the record books include WHA stats? Gordie Howe had 975 goals, and that's with taking 2 whole seasons off.

Reaves played ~273 min in 35 games, and had 0 g, 2 A, for 2 pts. And now won’t shut up about not having opportunities etc. He was definitely one of those "we would rather you didn't play for us but we gotta put guys on the ice" bsky.app/profile/hock...
Trying to get a bead on "NHL regular" and it looks like the shift between "you play for us, but not as much as the better players" vs "we would rather you didn't play for us but you gotta put guys on the ice" is about four hundred minutes a season (for forwards).
