I am missing it for the first time in years but if it wasn’t for the folks I only see at Dragonmeet (the Podcast Zone) and the interviews I usually do, I would feel pretty much the same way.

I use the Apple AirPods with noise cancelling, they’re pretty good.

The barbarian’s player is going to miss a few sessions in a row so I have suggested they find a side adventure to go on.

For single session absences, we’re doing number 2 (because the missing character is the front line tank of the party).

We’re going through precisely this right now. I’ve always seen the options as:
1) They aren’t there. Don’t talk about it, don’t think about it, just carry on
2) I, the GM, play their character in combat but otherwise they remain in the background
3) Develop an in fiction reason for their absence

If Musk wants people to mercilessly roast him, why not just join BlueSky? I’m sure folks will do that without spending billions.
