$1.63 to send a letter across Canada is still a steal.

One of my fundamental beliefs is that I should not have to talk to people who have been cruel to me. You might be surprised to learn how often -- and vociferously -- people disagree with me about that.

Just a reminder to support your local library!

📕Library cards are free.
📘Audiobooks count towards circulation numbers.
📗Library funding is tied, in part, to circulation.
📙Libraries are safe havens.

I will always love physical books, but several cross-country and 1 international move made me pare down my personal collection. I check out books, e-books, and audiobooks from the library; e-books are convenient, and audiobooks are great for commuting and insomnia nights 🙂 #Bookvember
Welcome to #Bookvember Day 28!

Follow the directions on the prompt card and discuss your reading habits.

We've made the Genuine People Personalities™ from Hitchhiker's Guide a reality, and somehow they're even more obnoxious than in the books.

Thank you, BlueSky friends, for the eclectic adds to my reading list via your posts and discussions! It’s definitely a curated source but also delightfully random 😃📚

I concur. My version is that Canadian Thanksgiving was in October, so I have no holiday overlap to contend with AND there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Holiday season starts now 😁
This Friday at 3:45 PM EST, I’m calling it. It will be The Holidays. I cannot take anymore input. It’s over. This year is over.

The Blue Jays lost a heartbreaker late last night, the time changed and sunset is early again, it’s cold and wet out, and tomorrow is Monday ☹️ Bah humbug.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

This excellent article reminds us that most of the highly impactful inventions that have immeasurably improved our lives originated from basic research. At the time this basic research was being conducted it was unclear where it was leading. But the scientists persisted with dogged determination.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

I found another seasonal product that I want (with no chocolate, which is rare)...but not right now because It Is Not The Season Yet. The gamble is whether it will be still be available in December. This out-of-sync marketing is bats.

Fall clean up: Threw out my favourite red Hockey Canada hoodie (from now-defunct National Sports) and replaced it with a plain red one. Sad, but necessary IMO. 😑

I've received an 'exclusive' invite to try Nature's new 'research assistant', which will burn down a forest to provide a 'summary of the paper' I'm reading and I have SUCH exciting news for them, that's called an 'abstract' and the actual authors already wrote it for me, no forest-burning required.
