Why should the global oil industry have the power to dictate national policy is a good question.😱

Instead of transitioning to clean renewable energy, we've tied the Canadian economy to increased hydrocarbon production along with not-solving-the-problem carbon capture & storage.

Is it worth paying over 300 dollars to sit more upright on my city/adventure (ex-mountain-) bike?
Because I would sit more upright on that bike.
I don't think it would diminish the fun, pleasure, and enjoyment at all.

I vote for "this is really a bad idea."
The bike lane won't be safe to ride when temperatures rise above melting, we should not have to wait for all the ice to melt before the bike lane is safe to use, & even if 90% is melted, there will be shaded areas that will still be icy & dangerous.
Aieee!

Hero!
Truck driver spotted a 93 year old on the side of the road, in the middle of the night, in her pyjamas, in 0 C (32F) temperature.
She had left the seniors residence in middle of the night.
He got her to safety.

56 page 'Recycling 101' in JdeM today.
Say what you will about the complete awfulness of Journal de Montreal's horrific collection of hate-filled opinion writers, but the part of the paper that is journalism is always topical & informative.
Buy it for the news, get your brain poisoned for free.

PSA: if you ride your bike in below freezing temperatures, put hand grips or handlebar tape over the bare metal on the handlebars.
tl;dr: I hate seeing bare metal handlebars.

Something very surprising I learned this summer is that this trailer that carries/deploys underground electric cable is self-powered and an operator has a control panel that guides it into place.
It isn't backed into position attached to the back of a truck.
It drives itself!

Cyclists by law have to ride on the rightmost side of the road or street.
Is there also a law that states that obstacles must be placed in their way? Obstacles that force the cyclist to veer into the lane with the fast-moving car traffic?
