Did a bit more, mocking up how the tiles in the hands would go.
Discovered assigning shaders is costly, so has to be done more carefully to maintain a good frame-rate.
Pretty proud of how it's come together so far. :P Definitely going to work more on this after the current project.

Not really sure how shaders work exactly, but I managed to create one that 'dims' a tile. Also got Orthographic projections sorted out (kinda), should I want to use that at some point.

Cheating a lot with the 3D, just using a 'table' object I downloaded twice... since I'm not good enough to make the objects myself yet... 8)

Figured out how to draw directly to the textures, so I can do stuff like a digital panel in the middle of the table... 8)

There's probably much better ways of doing it, but I've managed to get different tile-faces implemented now. Enhanced the lighting a bit too.
Definitely something I'm interested in working on more... after I get the current project done. 8)

Figuring out the lighting & shadows. Pulled in a 'table' object and put a custom image on it. It... has potential. This is all pretty new to me, but I'm sort-of figuring stuff out.
Keeping the console game in "2D" projection, but this could form the basis for an update to KM later?

I think I've made them a bit more aggressive (and willing to declare Riichi) now, in the Playdate version.
A couple games played and the CPU's done better.
It's possible, too, that I was just having a string of good luck before too. :P
