I found his book on setting useful because no one else seems to spend much time on that unless they're talking about world building. Scene and Structure was good too for depth on a few things.

When I was in college, I knew Dwight and Jack Bickham, and took their workshops and classes. While some of their stuff doesn't hold up, markets and culture changes, it's impressive how much of it still does. I'm in a November group and the leader talks scenes, sequels, and motivation reaction units.

This sounds like me too. I assumed it was because of a career coding larger systems and having to work like a plate spinner on the Sullivan show. Along with acute ADHD. I wonder why we don't hear more about this as a process--only linear.

My adhd is acute enough that I tend to rely on a brown noise background. Like this one, for example.
