I think the word transsexual has use, though, in stating that we CAN change "sex characteristics," and actively take steps to do so. I am a transsexual; I have actively medically changed my physical body's sex characteristics as defined in the social context I live in, and I intend to do so more

correct; the biological categories we sort sex characteristics into are not prior to or immune to criticism of the socially constructed gender relations that ALL our epistemic categories exist under.
