We were invited to a lg gathering at our son's in-laws, all lovely folks, the host veganized a lot of the menu for us but still cooked a 🦃 for the others, we brought over a tofurkey. When asked about our travel trips, we answered we didn't travel so much anymore due to cc-we may as well had 3 heads.

I almost sprayed coffee out of my mouth at this sentence: "Luckily, the Earth’s sixth mass extinction has one thing going for it that the others didn’t—humans." You're spot on, dear Lyle, re: the only thing we've mastered at scale: self-deception.

May I recommend George Monbiot's book "Regeneisis", or watch this debate between Monbiot and Mr. Savory. You might end up changing your views.

Hubby & I are retired now, so we have the time, but it just feels wrong somehow--like exacerbating the predicament we're all in. "Live simply so that others can simply live" comes to mind. That, & every country is having some ecological disaster or another. Very few people understand our choices..

Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.

The pregnant sow spends three months virtually immobilized in this gestation crate. Often in the dark. Often “limit fed“.
Which means they’re kept hungry.

Try to relate to being immobilized, hungry, kept in the dark for three months.

Indeed, Crossberg is "depraved, disgusting and disgraceful". I'm glad he lost his position at the Department of Biodiversity.
