The Colorado dry air is HELL on my sinuses. I WISH I was dealing with a runny nose, but instead we’ve got rock hard boogers lodged up so high I gag when I finally dislodge them.

Just finished a course of prednisone for my asthma. Miserable. I literally scheduled an appointment with my therapist for the first time in six months. I was like, “I’m feeling crazy and my strategies aren’t working!” And he was like, “Uh yeah, your body is flooded with cortisol.”

My policy is that whenever I learn a term (or in this case, a spelling) COULD be interpreted as problematic, I stop using it, even if just for a small number of people. Why would I want people to think I’m racist or ableist or whatever? It’s so easy to just not.

To expand a little, listen to what the striking workers ask for. Sometimes they’ll ask you to fully boycott. Sometimes, for a variety of reasons, they won’t.
Imagine yourself and your work friends standing up against a corporate giant like Starbucks. Imagine the courage and willpower that takes.

My family wasn’t rich (quite the opposite) but after my parents’ divorce, my dad decided to stop buying food for my then 16-year-old brother. We were poor enough to qualify for free school lunch, but my family was opposed to “handouts”, so my brother starved for a year.
