Yeah there are a lot of legitimate criticisms of Florida, and I'm always here for nutritious dunking on the sunshine state, but people don't care enough to find out what to really make fun of us for and go for generic 'dumb, backwards, ignorant, republicans'. Y'all we have gators! Start there!

I will also say, Natalie Haynes Stands Up for the Classics is similar vibes but for adults and about ancient writers. If you don't mind some references to bad behavior and more obvious references to sex than Greeking Out, it's probably fine for kids.

There are so many great kids podcasts! If you're looking for educational, there's Wow in the World, Tumble, the Ten News, and the Past and the Curious. For more Greek Mythology, there's Live! From Mt Olympus which does a radio drama take on the stories

I don't know about your writing process, but I always find it easier to fill in the room later when you can do a second pass and focus more on it. Character and dialog come more naturally to me as well. But sometimes as you go along the world builds itself and you can go back to fill in the details
