what he doesn’t know is that not only do I know what he’s saying already. I’ve walked the same distance at the same pace in the past at a lower heart rate. Today was just a bad day and they happen from a multitude of reasons. But clearly he thinks I need to hear him say it.

Running/Hydration Vest Gate has me fucking confused.

I’ve not been eating as well as I probably should and I’ve slacked off on going to the gym since starting my job so weight loss has slowed to a stop. But even with a long plateau and losing tenths of a pound per week I’m at my lowest weight so far. And this trend still looks better than before.

Sent an email to the 5k training group leader last night and got a very encouraging response so I’ll be going on Thursday.

The funny thing is that The Kid found him on Strava and while his 5k PR is okay it’s not outstanding. Especially compared to Jeff Galloway’s PR Marathon time (5 min 12.5 second mile). And Jake doesn’t have a PR for anything longer than a 10k so he’s not exactly an elite level runner. 🤣

Of FFS. Respect for the sport of running? He is including 5k events in his little rant? Most 5k events are “fun runs” not serious races. They’re the entry point for a lot of people just getting into running and a ton of people sign up to walk them. Many of them are billed as run/walk events.
