The biggest thing to keep in mind with Hazbin Hotel is that it is, at its core, an independent production. This is the biggest reason (I think) that it’s able to have queer characters and cover topics that other shows won’t touch. I give this show a lot of leeway because of all of this.

In a lot of ways, it’s about unpacking the cult of logic that states that logic and reason (“masculine” ways of thinking) are superior to all other forms of thinking for any purpose. There are other forms of thinking besides science and logic that are useful for many situations.

I think it’s deeper than just replacing words. Replacing “insane” with “crazy” or “re******” with “stupid” doesn’t actually do that much because you’re still doing the same thought terminating cliché. Being creative and specific should help avoid the issue that I’m presenting.

is a feeling of agency, but it is possible to have that feeling without having a ton of actual power. Respect is the ability to encourage people to think well of you with good will. The most respectable people are followed out of trust and not fear. Elon Musk is a dipshit by the way. (3/3)

but it’s very obvious that he doesn’t feel very empowered and he doesn’t garner a whole lot of respect. This lack of respect even includes people that Musk clearly wants respect from. From my standpoint, power is a tangible ability to force others to consider you whenever acting. Empowerment (2/3)
