Currently teaching these gems in AP Lit / high school seniors. I love bringing the kids into contemporary poetry. Invariably they are energized by these collections and go totally bananas.

Incredible. I’m not super good with taxonomy but I would call these poems “visionary.” They twist and turn and think and have all the freedom they need to inhabit consciousness. Alive and fresh. Truly stunning. #poetry #reginaldshepherd @upittpress.bsky.social
