The former Countess, Emma.
@countessemma187.bsky.social
Twexiled South Yorkshire lass who ran for the hills but secretly would rather be French. Sometime birder and Starmerite. Doesn’t suffer fools or eat gammon. #FBPE
Yes. It is. Utterly deplorable. But there is little electoral utility in telling racists that the man they would vote for is a racist. Labour need to nail Farage and his underlings to Putin and to the threat they pose to our country. And they need to do it every day. Every damn day!

And here they are! Perfect with merguez sausages, baba ganoush and pitta bread.

The confit tomatoes are smelling good! Another hour and a bit and they’ll be done.

Despite the garbage emanating from the usual quarters, a quick visit to any high street or supermarket will be enough to assure all but the most simpleminded that Christmas hasn’t been cancelled, and that no-one is trying to steal it….. which is kind of ironic really.

Castleton looked especially atmospheric this evening.

Sadly, not a parody account.

This Yantar.
November 23, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Portsmouth huh? That’s a naval base isn’t it? I wonder whether the plastic patriots of Reform mentioned Nathan Gill on the doorstep? Or the Yantar. Y’know, the Russian spy ship that has been in British waters trying to block the GPS signals of Royal Navy vessels.

Roubles paid for Nathan Gill to spread Russian propaganda, and roubles paid for Brexit.

It’s time the govt implemented the recommendations of the Russia Report.

Serious flagshaggery in Chesterfield. Note the Poppymas soldiers, re-purposed and sent into action as rooftop snipers.

Not everything that pops up on Space Karen’s hellsite is a bag of shite.

@remembrancewatch.bsky.social The power of remembrancing on the way to the bingo.
November 4, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Gorgeous afternoon for a spot of treebathing.

Utterly, utterly shameful. Sends a far more powerful message than any #grooming inquiry ever could. #PrinceAndrew

Anyone else wondering how the officials of a private company masquerading as a political party can accuse anyone else of dishonesty?
October 28, 2025 at 1:30 PM
@remembrancewatch.bsky.social Take a trip to Chesterfield, and you too can remembrance the fallen beneath the boarded up windows of a disused building.

The West Wing shows how it should be done. The brilliant Baron Noir, which we started watching again last night, shows how it is done. And with a corking soundtrack too.

Fine. As long as people in are country, Britian, who think there is too many immigrunts, are subject to the same requirements.

Lunch: Dauphinoise made with the last of the charlottes, remoulade made with the first of the celariac, and one of the last butterhead lettuces.

Gorgeous afternoon for just titting about in our little garden, cheered by the sunshire and little pops of blue.
October 11, 2025 at 5:11 PM
The English degree that would equip you with the capacity to spell Britain correctly? Yeah?
October 9, 2025 at 2:35 PM
Grubbing about under the trees for these makes me feel like a little kid again.

A gorgeous red kite in the Peak District.

Splendidly foul afternoon for tarting up an old picture frame with some postcards I bought this summer, and making a pan of french onion soup.
October 5, 2025 at 6:13 PM
Mint from our garden in olive oil, ready for the freezer. A taste of summer in winter.
