Well here's a good thing. £27 for one of these 27" 1440p freesync monitors (up to 70hz). No stand, but it has a vesa mount.

Hard drives are becoming much more expensive. Last year I was able to buy 3tb units for about £35. Now they're about £65-70. My scale for good value was £10 per 1tb, so even at £35 I was a bit annoyed. Now I'm just thinking twice about which very important internet downloads to keep.

Looks like I'll have to get one of these Domesday Duplicator setups. It's for VHS ripping and connects direct to the motherboard before the signal is output, which means you get the best possible rip.
