Peter Kay was on Scott Mills radio show this morning for a good long chat. You can listen to it all here, along with loads of other great radio interviews with comedians.

Well here's a good thing. £27 for one of these 27" 1440p freesync monitors (up to 70hz). No stand, but it has a vesa mount.

The Last Stand - Aftermath (2021)

Excellent zombie action game. After the first run, you have to replay it quite a few times to finish it. It's one of those games you can play for years.

Don't bother with its predecessors.

Hard drives are becoming much more expensive. Last year I was able to buy 3tb units for about £35. Now they're about £65-70. My scale for good value was £10 per 1tb, so even at £35 I was a bit annoyed. Now I'm just thinking twice about which very important internet downloads to keep.

Car wankers are fighting over this electric estate car and whether it's better than some other car.

The winner was a guy who called it a stylish hearse.

I can see a bit of a flaw in this seller's marketing strategy.

SteamWorld Dig 2 (2017)

Digging and platforming. One of those games where exploring and revealing the map is the main thing.

Nex Machina (2017)

A modern take on Robotron. Brilliant twin-stick action from one of the best companies for excellent smaller games, Housemarque.

The scripts for the Alan Partridge radio show were only ever in a book, made of paper (!). So I scanned all those pages and then spent a load of time turning them into their best form - RTF files for Word.

This War of Mine (2014)

You have to survive a version of the war on Grozny. If you don't do well, your people will die. Sometimes you have to kill to save them. Sometimes you'll kill for some ciggies.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor (2024)

Looks and plays like a rogue-lite twin-stick shooter, but it's actually single-stick. You can play this with one hand.

Under the Breaking Sky by Nick Clausen. The plot's like Triffids - people see a thing in the sky and go into a violent rage. So don't look at the sky.

A thread about great but smaller games.

Deadlight Director's Cut (2016).

In this you have to get through a zombie infested city to reach a target. It's puzzles and platforming.

If you're looking for DVDs, check CEX (webuy.com) before comparing ebay or amazon. Their prices are often significantly cheaper. The only annoyance is that there's no bundled mail prices - for one offs that's fine though.

I just got this - £6 inc postage from them, £16 on ebay and £24 on Amazon.

Looks like I'll have to get one of these Domesday Duplicator setups. It's for VHS ripping and connects direct to the motherboard before the signal is output, which means you get the best possible rip.

It's £302 though.
