This has gotten in my head and won’t let go. I am so bored here in the recovery facility that I have written a detailed “bible” for this story setup with names changed and serial numbers filed off. (Just how protected are pastiches and parodies these days?) Pity I’m not a comic artist…

Dot & Lotta secretly direct a cadre of supernatural avengers, including the ghost of a dead child, a sarcastic demon, and a young, out of control witch. All of these have a grudge against the Rich family empire. This just begs for the Gail Simone touch, doesn’t it?

There we go. Bring Dot, Lotta, etc back as gritty superheroes! (Or maybe antiheroes.) Dot is a sexy hardcore graffiti artist sticking it to the Man, and Lotta is a foul-mouthed chef and Food Network star. Together, they fight the corruption of the Richard Rich corporate empire.

Whatever happened to those old Harvey characters? Little Dot, Little Lotta, Hot Stuff the devil? Only Richie Rich and Casper are still familiar names to kids. Yeah, they were often one-joke characters, but as a kid I used to read them alongside my Superman and Batman comics and enjoyed them.

I imagine after you’ve been there a bit, your brain filters it out for the most part. Pity…

System certainly matters, but don’t let the lack of perfection in a system get in the way of having a good time role playing anyway. My case in point is always the adventure “Film at Eleven” that Greg Poehlein and I did for Gary Gygax’s Cyborg Commandos RPG.

This is choice stuff, Ryan! Best with the KS! I’ve backed quite a few but never quite had the courage (and the right project) to launch my own. But this is a worthy one if ever I’ve seen one.
