Most white colleges wouldn’t accept Black students, and Black colleges didn’t have the capacity to handle the post-war demand—by 1947, as many as 50,000 qualified Black veterans had been turned away.

A Republican sheriff in a swing county that Trump won by 0.1% signed a contract to help ICE, then lost last week by 11.

SAY IT TO THEIR FACES
Trump and Musk cut USAID and over 600,000 people have died because of it.

Over 400,000 of them, children.

And not one member of the press will say it to Musk’s nor Trump’s faces or even the American people’s.

It should be on the front page of every paper worldwide.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Shaheen (Retiring)

The criminals in the Bush administration (e.g. Cheney) escaped punishment for their crimes. After we remove the Trump regime, we cannot repeat that mistake.
This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

1/19 "God bless America" was written by a Jewish immigrant from Russia. He wasn't Christian. He wasn't born a U.S. citizen. He wrote the song about a country that gave hope to the weary.

Much of the Christian nation revision happened in the 1950s as a way to distinguish from "godless" countries.

May Dick Cheney's family find peace. They have my sympathy.

In life, Dick Cheney was a monster who played a major role in destroying countless lives and our republic. He should have died in prison.

Peaceful assembly isn’t an insurrection.

Storming the Capitol to hang your own vice-president and end democracy is.

Every Trump regime official should die in prison.
McLaughlin: "Pritzker said there's racial profiling, which is absolutely false. Our officials use reasonable suspicion. That's protected under the US Constitution 4th Amendment."

Fellow flotilla activists are alleging Greta Thunberg was horrifically mistreated in Israeli detention.

If this is how Israel treats a high-profile detainee like Greta Thunberg, I want you to consider how they treat Palestinian detainees.

You don’t have to imagine it. It’s been widely documented:

eventually politicians need to start advocating for criminal and civil penalties for people involved in fabricating stories to get citizens incarcerated.

or, put another way: a society that would like to keep functioning has to discourage baldfaced lying, especially by authorities

Americans like freedom and Americans are pro-family.

MAGA is against both. The Trump regime takes sadistic joy in breaking up families and hurting kids.
Family separations were the hallmark of the first Trump administration’s border policy. Now advocates allege migrant families are being split up again as a retaliatory measure.

For over a decade, my Foundations of HCI undergrad course has covered “privacy & surveillance” with a (2002) reading about the Panopticon and a once distant warning about how social media sites could create a self-censoring reality. And Ellison is just… owning/celebrating the dystopia.
Larry Ellison envisions a surveillance state in which techbros rule. '“Citizens will be on their best behavior, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on,” Ellison said in an hour-long Q&A during Oracle’s Financial Analyst Meeting last week.'
