oh, the compositor outline is also a consistent thickness on the screen! you can get an inverted hull w/ geonodes to do that but i think the effect is sold well enough with just the silhouette outline

for reference this is what she looks like with only the inverted hull, without the silhouette outline done w/ compositing. looks okay but the fluffy wrist cuffs stand out quite a bit

inverted hull gives me overlapping outlines in an easy to deal with way there's just no reasonable way for it to work with the texture alpha on its own, thankfully blender has real-time compositing and it's awesome
