It’s time for another Cool Teen Mothman adventure, this time to meet one of his friends, the Fresno Nightcrawler! (1/2)

On this week's Steamed Veggies: Establishing common ground. 🎮 (1/2)

In the first panel, the younger and present Emily sit next to each other on the couch. The younger Emily looks on, slightly worried, as the present Emily threads her hand through her hair and says, "I know we're the same person and all, but--I don't know, it's all so weird." In the second panel, we focus in on the younger Emily, looking on at her present self as she speaks off panel: "I feel like I don't know what to say--" In the third panel, we focus on the present Emily, looking off into the middle distance and seeming distressed. She finishes her thought with "to myself!" In the fourth panel, the younger Emily looks down toward the floor In the fifth panel, she darts her eyes back up to the present Emily (off panel) and says, "Are those Pikachu socks?" In the sixth panel, we see the present Emily's ankles and feet against the background of her floor rug. Her socks are, in fact, Pikachu socks: blue with yellow toes and heels with Pikachu heads and "Pika" patterned around them. The present Emily answers, "Huh? Oh, yeah. Had these for a few years now." In the seventh panel, the younger Emily leans over excitedly to the present Emily, who reacts with a small jolt at the sudden closed distance. The younger Emily, her enthusiasm literally sparkling around her, rattles off, "So we still like Pokémon? We didn't grow out of it? Like everyone said we would?!" In the eight panel, we focus on the present Emily, taking a beat and looking at her younger self with a small amount of shock. In the ninth panel, the present Emily smiles wide, sparkles around her now too.

On this week's Steamed Veggies: An unexpected introduction.
A 12 panel comic, rendered in full color. In the first panel, we see the outside of an apartment building at night. Light glows from a set of windows, and from those windows lilts singing; a bastardized, romanji version of "Umapyoi Legend" from the game Umamusume Pretty Derby: "Uuuuuuu, umadachi!" In the second panel, we hands holding a cross stitch hoop and sewing stitches, a cozy apartment interior in the background. The singing continues, "uuuuu, umapyoi, umapyoi!" In the third panel, we see who the hands sewing belong to: Emily, a woman with glasses, short hair, and wearing a goldenrod colored sweater. She focuses on her stitching as she continues singing to herself, "uuuuu sukidacchi! Uuuu, umapyoi!" In the forth panel, she gives into singing, slowly lowering her hoop as she leans back and finishes the verse, "uma uma umya umya san ni ichi fight!" On the "fight," a "FWOOM" sound effect bursts from off panel. In the fifth panel, Emily leans forward, stunned, looking at whatever has just occurred off panel with a simple "uh." In the sixth panel, we see what she's looking at: a portal that has opened up over her floor with a young girl stepping through it, who looks quite similar to Emily in appearance, though she has long hair and bangs and is much smaller. Emily asks with clear confusion, "who are you?" The seventh, eight, ninth and tenth panels are all arranged in a square, and the speech bubbles weave through each one. In the center of all of them stand the young girl, who shifts from her original young appearance to an appearance much similar to the current Emily as she delivers her observation: "Um, I think I'm every previous version of you all at the same time?" In the eleventh panel, we return to seeing the current Emily seated on the couch, staring in bewilderment. In the twelfth panel, she leans back onto the couch and simply says, "Well. Shit." to which her youngest self of the versions shown yells "hey we can't say that!" Below this is the title treatment of the series in lowercase letters: "Conversations with my Younger Self"
