I ordered some nice Yule decorations from Etsy this week, to go on our cast iron fireplace. I can't wait for them to get here. I'm not sure they will ever come down, to be honest!

We're in cheese, crackers and chutney season. Hurrah!
I say this is someone who is, quite frankly, *always* in that mindset, no matter what month it is. #EverythingsBettaWithFeta

She said this to a gay man. Then when called on it, got pissy. Turns out she's still here though. Odd that. She said "It was a test."...

Boss and I have decided that the full moon is playing havoc with everyone. It's taken us 4 attempts to understand what someone's actually asking for. We even had to get a third set of eyes to look at it.
It's not just us either!

I have been making a low carb flat 'bread'. Those of you with working endocrine systems, look away now.
It's essentially grated mozzarella + egg + yoghurt + flavourings. Weird? It works for me.
Today I'm using curd cheese, tahini, rose + orange blossom water. It smells divine. Time to bake!

FINE, Weather. I gave in, I wore a jumper for my walk this morning. Then as soon as I was back I was too hot.
Yesterday it felt like it was time to read my beloved @nigelslater.bsky.social's Christmas Chronicles again, and now here I am wearing a T-shirt! View from my room last night. So clear.

Dinner inspired by Samin Nosrat's dinner.
A BLT salad: lettuce, parsley, celery leaves & tomatoes all from my late blooming garden.
Dressing: spring onions sautéed in bacon fat, with garlic, basil, paprika, tomato and lots of lemon.
Crunchy onions courtesy of the corner shop.

I have invested in a new keyboard. I'm a little concerned it's too loud for home but the keyboard action is lovely and the stands bring it to the correct height.
Plus, it's gorgeous and feels like it came from Space:1999.

A colleague just went to Berlin. She couldn't find 'proper tea' anywhere. They searched for 3 days. Even our Berlin office only had fruit or herbal. Is this a German thing?
@yorkshiretea.bsky.social can you do a push to the German market? We have resolved to never leave home un-Tea'd.

Hello everyone. I appear to have forgotten about this place. To be fair, I've been mostly about work for the past however long.
So here, have a photo of a lovely lentil, olive and broccoli salad what I made. Preserved lemon and olive oil dressing.

As per my last post, Sudanese Black Salad is ready.
Chopped peanuts, feta and grilled olives to add more oomph (and empty the fridge.)

From Cheeky Little Magpie.
Comfort level: excellent. Now if only they did a purple version too...

Hey, men had it pretty much all their own way starting from when books were first published up until the 1950s. No sad violin here. It's just...evening out.

The deer from last night were still there at 5am this morning. Our grass looks a lot shorter now. A taxi driver dropping someone off did get a bit of a surprise though!

Have 2 blooming lovely cherry trees.

Where we live, the soil is clay based. It is hardy, and heavy. This is what happens when you put it in a skip. I admit, I am not sure how that happened, but it is rather impressive, even if it does remind me of Ben Grimm/Thing from the Fantastic 4 comics.

Hope they stay safe tonight.

Up and out early-ish. (The blanket was too snuggly and at 6am it was cloudy.)

I met some very good dogs, and walked rather a lot. 😁
