My favourite app on my phone is #BeMyEyes. Basically people with varying forms of blindness use the app to call someone who is sighted. Sighted volunteers then help. If you're sighted, just download it and be ready to wait a long time before you get a call!

Had a great time at the launch of I Am The Wind, a new collection of poetry edited by Sarah Webb and Lucinda Creighton. Amazing illustrations by Ashwin Chako, but best of all @rurooie.bsky.social has a poem in it!!!!

Day 3 of #DIKBChallenge23 and it's a bit late! However, Oliver Jeffer's book Here We Are is one of my fave picture books, and so is this Here We Are themed board book! Beautiful illustrations, of course!

Day 2 of #DIKBChallenge23! Today it's a graphic novel. I'd be a fool not to tell everyone about the brilliant Global by Eoin Colfer, Andrew Donkin and Giovanni Rigano. A fantastic story and a stark reminder of the climate crisis we all face right now.

It's Day 1 of the #DIKBChallenge23! For the month of October I'm taking on the challenge of recommending an Irish created book to fit a different theme. Today's book must have an animal on the cover, and it's The Little Bee Charmer of Henrietta Street by the excellent Sarah Webb!

I asked my 5yo godson what job he wants when he grows up. He looked me dead in the eyes and said “I don’t want a job. I want people to give me money instead.” I’m so damn proud of him. I was 40 before I worked that out.

Out of curiosity I searched "Gay Spar" on Google maps and I'm delighted to report it does come up.

I spent literal hours walking around Dublin City Centre looking for Pokémon. Found loads. I even found "shiny" Pokémon, which are in no way special other than being a different colour to normal Pokémon.
