What are your favourite one guard lies, one guard tells the truth twists/adaptations?

Two doors are in front of you each with its own guard. One of the guards tells you “one of us always tells the truth, one of us always lies”. The other immediately says that’s not true.

Once you pass you find out both doors lead to the same room, the liar was lying about the premise.

Dalton was really off the radar, and I hate the way he says “Bond, James Bond”. But for some reason, love it in general. And wish there was more of him.

Moore was the one I grew up with most because of itv reruns.
Brosnan was the one actually in place when I was a kid, goldeneye came out when I was about 7.

Best music I actually think might be View to a Kill. But it could just be cause I’ve just watched it.
The guitar bends are fun. And while the song is a bit naff, when it’s orchestrated into the film it works really well

I’d like Amazon to rediscover the fun of the franchise. Rather than trying to replicate bourne.

Yeah. I’ve not read the books before, but just started with the short stories. And they’re more tinker tailor soldier spy than I’d expect from the films. From a view to a kill is basically a detective story.

Amazon will not do this (understandable). They will probably look to create a spin off series around some background characters in order to maximise profit and create a cinematic universe. (Not understandable haha)

Streaming gives you the opportunity to do full length films for novels and then just do short length things for the short stories.

I’d create two strands. One continues the classic bond franchise. Gadgets, action, sexy and martinis. The other is period pieces, faithful adaptations of the original books. To distinguish one would be James Bond, the latter would be Ian Flemings… [name of book]
