FYI people who use Macs, do NOT update to latest Sequoia because it will push so called Apple Intelligence which is dependent on garbagefull AI, thereby rendering Siri useless, so if you are dependent on Siri you will not be able to rely on it. UGH.

I found Susanna Clark's novel in a sale pile years ago and jumped at the chance, buying it outright even if I had no idea then just how good it was. This particular quote from the essay has me smiling, because now I know I wasn't alone imagining Bowie.

I have this gilt bracelet with a marking that looks like a K with an umlaut on top, or a stylized X with a colon or two dots next to it. The links are amphora shaped with a brushed gold finish.

Mourning pin. Guessing Edwardian because of T hinge on back and pin stem length. Not sure what the blue flowers are here but I have some good guesses for the pink and white and red flowers.

I don't know who may need to hear this, but Trader Joe's Cornbread mix can be improved by using yogurt instead of milk and adding an egg(2 eggs total), and substituting 1/4 cup melted butter, in place of the single egg and 1/2 cup oil and 3/4 milk. The result will be richer and more flavorful.
