The more I think about it, the more I’m coming around to it all being about a carve out for a Trump branded trafficking play.
I personally like the conspiracy theory that they are trying to prop up Jr. as a nepo cartel baby by cutting him a ready-made cocaine highway.
Trump has now pardoned a murderous drug lord who smuggled 400 tons of cocaine into the country, AND the guy who ran the Dark Web's biggest drug marketplace.

I think one of the things the US Catholic Bishops needs to recognize is that folks like Vance, Homan, Fuentes, etc. are trying to be an alternative magisterium to the Pope. The Catholic Church really needs to fight this before it fully takes hold.
