How quickly can a writer of fiction engage the reader? Just noted my fave @linwoodbarclay.bsky.social took six and a half lines. Just wonderful ✨💫

A wonderful visit to NEU Northern Ireland despite some dire weather promoting our superb Disability Equality Toolkit. Excellent group of folks with fab comments and questions. Top class discussion. Thank you to all for making us feel so welcome 🌸

A really emotional weekend. It’s clear to me that many non disabled people simply don’t understand disabled people’s issues & concerns. I understand different views on the Assisted Dying bill of course I do but if you can’t think beyond your personal reaction you need to think more deeply, seriously

This is one huge loss of teaching and support talent. Improving the profession for Disabled staff actually helps all educators. More flexibility and access is needed. Bring down the barriers.
Absolutely agree !
Would also want to see @teachingcommission.bsky.social looking at R and R of Disabled teachers and the effect the SEND crisis is having on workload and retention.

Mary Bousted is great for this, but I hope there’ll be conversation & collaboration with the curriculum & assessment review commission panel as these two things are intrinsically interlinked. Half the problem in education is too many things operating in isolation without looking at the big picture.

We should show allyship with guide dog users to stop discrimination and harassment.

A great pleasure to attend the NEU London Disabled Members event today. A really worthwhile trip despite the poor weather. The solidarity of purpose in the room was impressive ☺️

Collectivising Disabled Workers concerns is vital. It’s a good time to point this out during Disability History Month. Together we are stronger fighting for our rights.

I’m really delighted with our NEU Disability Equality Toolkit. It keeps being added to all the while most recently a section on Access to Work. It’s a really useful resource.
