it IS also just an issue of how much screenspace is taken up by the UI - maimai DX most especially since theres NO space for any backgrounds or other defining features for each version on the song select screen. its SO hard for me to feel the difference between each version since original DX there

this is just a problem with performai as a whole. the UIs are too sterile and uniform and they FUNCTION but they dont really feel fantastic or groundbreaking to use. drives me insane how the UI just feels the EXACT same for every single version. iidx UIs feel familiar but refreshing every version!!!

the game is rushed and it clearly shows in its length and lower budget but the developers poured just as much love into the game as the first three. ending act spared no expense and is genuinely outstanding. never forgetting this franchise as long as i live
